The United Athena Mattress by Maxcoil is designed for those with a preference for firm mattresses. Natural coconut fiber is used for a firm and even back support and, coupled with the Bonnell Spring System, provides a proper full body support while remaining comfortable to sleep on.
Some mattress companies use a higher density of springs to make firmer mattresses. This means more metal in a mattress, which makes it heavier and far more expensive.
But Maxcoil managed to think outside the box, and instead of upping the spring count, it uses the easily available coconut fibre to provide added support instead. Not only is this cheaper, it also has the same feel of a high-density spring mattress and can be moved around with ease.

Should you wish to self-collect any order, there will be no delivery charges imposed.

Initially, I felt the Maxcoil Athena Mattress that I had purchased a bit too hard to me, as if I was sleeping on the solid concrete ground. But as time goes by, I gradually being more adaptable to the hardness of the mattress and having sound sleeps ever since. The craftsmanship of the mattress is good and undeniable value for money which you ought to pay up more to get a commensurable one elsewhere. The service was moderate which can be improved, in terms of giving more specific time frame of merchandize delivery. Rather than called up at 11am to notify the item was on the way to send but l only received it nearly to 2pm. By the way, how can l obtain the warranty card for my mattress as I had sent my request through question ask & answer, but it has been nearly a month, no reply at all? Thanks.

Pros: I bought a King size mattress. It is firm but not too hard, which is a nice feature. It was a cheap bed, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much more.
Cons: The mattress has dents on the top and bottom part where it was tied during transportation. The dents remained there even after two weeks.
The mattress was too bouncy. Whenever my husband moved, the vibrations could be felt very significantly. I should have chosen the pocketed spring instead of bonnel spring. The mattress is also very bouncy. The coconut husk does not really absorb vibrations well.

However, coconut fibre is only included on one side of the mattress, so it isn't advisable to flip the mattress, for comfort's sake. The lack of coconut fibre on the flip-side has also made us lower the Athena's 'Durability' rating to a 2.5/5.
Interestingly, there has been not a single customer complaint about the Athena in our four years of carrying this product. As retailers, we find this very impressive indeed.

Thanks! - We used to carry Texas but stopped after some negative feedback. The specs are similar, but Athena have been getting positive reviews from people who have used it.
